NEW MUSIC: Tim Easton – You Don’t Really Know Me
Here’s the first single from Tim Easton‘s new album of the same name, due out on August 27th. We’ve got a heap of fond memories of seeing Tim perform down here in Sydney and at the Dashville Skyline Festival in the Hunter Valley. Such a brilliant songsmith, live performer and guitarist who knows deftly navigate country, folk and blues, with real heart and soul.
The new single lopes along on some sweet electric playing, super melodic licks before Tim’s beautifully worn voice enters the fray.
“In some ways, it’s a recovery album,” says the singer/songwriter, who wrote the bulk of You Don’t Really Know Me during the national quarantine of 2020. “Not only recovery from a vice, but also recovery from a divorce and a destructive, rambling life of self-centered gratification. It’s a peaceful, positive, loving album — an album about personal revolution.”
“Gone are the wistful, drunken wanderer tunes of the past,” he explains. “These are songs for today.”
